Conor McGregor is one of the biggest names in the MMA industry right now. On top of this fact, the featherweight champ wants to make history by being the first MMA fighter ever to hold two UFC belts simultaneously. However, former champ Jose Aldo is predicting otherwise.
Aldo, who is hoping to get a rematch against McGregor and get his belt back, has told the media last Wednesday that Rafael dos Anjos will definitely win at UFC 196. The avid fans of the sport will not even remember who McGregor is by the end of the year.
When asked about the upcoming fight between McGregor and Dos Anjos and who would win, as well as McGregor’s plans going after the welterweight title next, Aldo is fairly certain that McGregor would have a hard time achieving his goals.
“I think it’s tough. And I’ll say this: I don’t think he will have any belt by the end of the year. And everyone will forget him. He has this dream, this goal, but you can be sure that he won’t have any (belt) by the end of the year. A fight is a fight and you have to respect the other side, but I see Rafael with the (lightweight) belt and the (featherweight) belt back to me. That’s a fact,” Aldo further said.
Conor McGregor is scheduled to fight RDA for the UFC lightweight MMA belt this coming March 5th. Aldo, obviously, supports his fellow Brazilian fighter.
“I expect a win from dos Anjos. I’m a patriot Brazilian and I will always root for a Brazilian no matter what. I will root for him. I wish him all the luck, I hope he wins,” Aldo said.
